Other Roles

Below are some of the additional positions and a description of some of their responsibilities.

Greeters:

  • ​greet people as soon as the exit customs
  • describe process they will be entering for COVID screen
  • assess how prepared traveller form is to determine where they need to go: straight to counter (if there is safe space); table to fill form, or translation services if required

Interviewers:

  • ​at counters
  • receive forms
  • data entry
  • assess if it its sufficient (either they are allowed to leave or sent to isolation team)​

Rovers:

  • ​managing queues
  • asking people to keep safe distances
  • offering help
  • directing traffic to various counters during peak loads​

Translators:

  • contracted staff
  • help with forms and explanations​

Exit Controls:

  • ​stationary positions at exit points to ensure individuals have cleared the screening process or are proceeding to isolation exit as instructed​

Isolation Support Staff:

  • ​being led by EMBC

Transportation & Curb Staff:

  • ​Escorting individuals to designated bay (Bay #7) ​to vehicle to take them to isolation hotel/quarantine

Supervisors:

  • troubleshooting onsite
  • supplies (monitor levels, provide to staff as needed)
  • daily reporting (issues, summary of clearances, isolation #s, feedback on forms)
  • shift scheduling
  • HR issues
  • staff orientation

Manager:

  • ​​lead daily meetings with CBSA, PHAC, YVR
  • work with supervisor on assessing daily/weekly outlook based on flight schedules
  • approving purchases/procurement
  • reporting to Executive Sponsors
